Folkestone will again be without Darren Smith when they host Kent rivals Faversham on Tuesday night.

The influential midfielder, who rejoined Invicta from Leatherhead in the summer, missed Saturday's season opener at Three Bridges for personal reasons.

Folkestone boss Neil Cugley wasn't impressed by his side's performance on the first day of the season and admitted Smith had been missed in the 1-1 draw.

Cugley said: "I knew Smithy had problems, but was still hoping he might get there.

"But as it is, it also looks very unlikely that he’ll make our game against Faversham.

"Darren does help us get the ball forward quicker – but, to be fair the forwards didn’t hold it up well enough when we did get it up to them.

"Our defence had their moments too, at times. Friendy (Liam Friend) was holding their big centre-half back and though it’s the kind of thing players get away with more often than not in the Premier League, I had no real complaints when the referee awarded the penalty."

Jordan Wright, who's yet to play a competitive game for Invicta, could feature against Faversham.

Ray Turner's side are looking to make it two wins out of two after they beat Worthing 2-1 on Saturday.
