FOLKESTONE INVICTA have gone to the top of the Dr Martens League for the first time with two victories over the Bank Holiday weekend.

A goal in each half, from James Dryden and Anthony Hogg, earned a 2-0 victory over Salisbury at Cheriton Road on Saturday.

Invicta followed the win up with a 4-2 victory on Monday away to Kent rivals Welling who had levelled at 2-2 after being reduced to 10 men.

Goalkeeper Kevin Hudson saved a penalty in each match, while James Virgo scored twice from the spot at Welling. The home side had Mark Hone sent off.

Hogg and Scott Daniels were Invicta's other scorers.
