Folkestone Invicta have signed winger Josh Stanford from their promotion rivals Faversham Town.
Stanford, 25, was part of the Faversham side which finished third in Ryman League Division 1 South last season - one point and one place below Invicta.
The two clubs are likely to do battle again in 2015/16 but Stanford will now be wearing Folkestone colours after signing a one-year contract at the Fullicks Stadium.
Stanford scored in the 2013 FA Vase final at Wembley for a Tunbridge Wells side which also included Folkestone winger Jon Pilbeam and former Maidstone striker Jack Harris.
Invicta manager Neil Cugley said: "I found out that Josh wanted to leave Faversham Town when his good friends Matt Newman and Jon Pilbeam asked if I would be interested in signing Josh as he had approached them.
"He is a left-sided player which is the sort of player I have been looking for, so I had no hesitation in asking him to come along for a chat.
"I think the fans will be very excited by Josh and he will soon become one of their favourite players.
"Josh was very disappointed when his mate Jack Harris signed for Hastings and he then started talking to Matt and Jon about joining us at Invicta.
"He is a player that I have admired for many years. It will be worth buying a season ticket just to see him play."
Stanford is Folkestone's third summer signing after defender/midfielder Phil Starkey and striker Carl Rook.
