Wesley Shrubsole Angling: Good news for rays catchers
06:00, 26 November 2020
Our beaches continue to produce good numbers of rays in among the hordes of whiting.
This is good news as for this species the need for lugworms is not so high, as fish baits sandeel and squid will put a few on the beach.
With the frosts now with us, lugworm will be hard to come by.
Do not disregard the small whiting that are plaguing you either as the thornback ray will also eat them with gusto.
Remember now is the time to dig out that flask and thermal gear as the wee hours can be a lot colder than you think.
