Expect an open game when Folkestone Invicta host Whitehawk on Saturday.

The home side probably need to win their last five games to have any chance of making the Botsik Premier play-offs.

Whitehawk are desperately trying to avoid relegation, meanwhile, and they arrive three points from safety.

The Hawks, who were on the verge of the National League just three years ago, will drop back to Step 4 unless they can pull off a great escape.

Things are much more stable at Folkestone, but they’d love to keep the promotion dream alive for another week.

Invicta boss Neil Cugley said: “It should be an entertaining game. I think all our games now will be.

“We’ve got to win them so it’s no good sitting back and I don’t think we do that often anyway.

“They’re desperate to stay up and they’ve brought quite a few players in over the last few weeks to strengthen.

“All our games are quite good ones. We’ve got the teams around us and Margate, which is a good game as well.

“We’ll have to win most of our games (to make the play-offs) and we’ll keep trying to do that.

“It’s been a really difficult season with injuries and even on Saturday, we were patching people up to get through the game. Luckily we’ve got no midweek game so hopefully by Saturday they’ll be fitter than they were last weekend.”

Two late goals earned Folkestone a draw at Potters Bar on Saturday but it’s now one win in seven for Cugley’s men.

He said: “We had a great home run but that got stopped by Worthing and we’ve been to some difficult away games.

“That’s disappointing but there have been circumstances so what can you do? You just get on with it.

“We’re not in a situation where we can go and bring loads of players in to rectify that so we just roll our sleeves up and keep plugging away to the end of the season.

“The year before last, we stayed up on the last day of the season and last year we got in the play-offs, which maybe was above expectation for everybody.

“I suppose we are where people expected us to be so we’ll enjoy it, try to win every game and try to get as many points as we can.”
