As it is every year, there is a huge contrast in the results of grammar and comprehensive schools.

The area’s grammar schools also dominated the A-level tables, with several, including Dartford Grammar School for Girls and Mayfield Grammar School, Gravesend, achieving 100% or 99% across the board.

Almost all Dartford and Gravesham secondary schools managed to get 100% of their children through one A-level, better than the national picture.

However, the standard dropped significantly when it came to multiple qualifications.

Only a handful got above the national average, with many including Meopham School, The Leigh Academy and Wilmington Academy only getting a third or less of their children through three A-levels.
