If you can't get to the concert, then let the concert come to you...
People living at Wimborne House in Gravesend were treated to an outdoor performance by the London Fanfare Trumpets.
Five members of the music group performed a selection of well-known songs, including timeless favourites such as James Bond theme tunes and Dancing Queen by ABBA.
The musicians performed outside in the gardens, rather than in the communal lounge, and many residents, including those who are continuing to shield, chose to watch from their apartment windows.
The group performed twice – once on either side of the building – so as many people as possible could enjoy the concert from the safety of their homes.
The performance is just one of a range of regular activities and events organised by the onsite wellbeing and inclusion team, which aims to improve residents’ emotional and physical wellbeing, reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation, and help residents to feel part of their community.
Abu Aref, care and support team leader at Wimborne House, said: “I think it is safe to say that Saturday’s visit by the London Fanfare Trumpets was a great success.
"So many residents have been talking about how much they enjoyed it.
"We’d like to thank them for putting on a wonderful concert, and we hope they’ll come back and perform again for us soon.”
