Who better to help guide youngsters towards a career in stage and screen than an actor from the country’s most popular soap?
EastEnders’ Liam Bergin, who plays Danny Mitchell, was at The Woodville in Gravesend last week to chat to budding young actors about his career and what it is like being on one of the biggest shows on British television.
His visit capped a week of workshops organised by Centre Stage Theatre Academy, with teenagers enjoying sessions run by different people from the industry.
The academy is run by former EastEnder Frankie Fitzgerald, who played Nick Cotton’s son Ashley, and his wife Lydia.
Centre Stage teaches more than 300 pupils a week at venues including in Bexleyheath, Bromley, Gillingham, and The Woodville.
