Air ambulance lands on A2

A stretch of the A2 is now open both ways after an accident.

The collision involving a motorbike and a van happened close to the junction of Thong Lane, with traffic now backed up to Junction 2 of the M2, London-bound.

An air ambulance landed, but has now left the scene.

Police were called to the incident at 8:26am along with paramedics.

The victim of the crash has been taken to a local hospital.

Kent Police spokesperson, Vicki Foster said: "Road closures were put in place on both sides of the carriageway to allow for the air ambulance to land however the victim was able to be taken to a local hospital via land ambulance to be treated for injuries. The road closures have now been lifted"

The road was closed off in both directions to make room for emergency services, but both directions are now moving.
