An animatronic polar bear and an Arctic explorer from the frozen north enjoyed a day out in the comparatively balmy climes of Gravesend on Saturday.
They were just two of the colourful characters at the Creative Christmas event at Gravesend Borough Market, where visitors were able to watch live ice carving, gingerbread workshops and browse a range of stalls.
Other activities included a Victorian Pomander children’s workshop, Mini Moo crafts and Meopham Mini Artists workshops; while guests were also able to enjoy Santa’s Christmas Robin show.
Characters from Frozen were also in attendance, and Father Christmas made his obligatory appearance.
Next up in Gravesham's Christmas programme is Nativity Live on Saturday, December 15.
From 2pm, experience the festive tale retold with Mary and Joseph, their donkey and the wise men on their camels as they parade through the town.
The event will kick off with animals, activities and music by St George's Church in Church Street.
At 3.30pm, as the light dims, a lantern parade will be led by Mary and Joseph through Jury Street, past the Old Town Hall, and up the High Street to the corner of King Street and Windmill Street.
The festive fun will finish in Community Square, with the Gravesham Borough Band and Community Choir, and will be provided by Churches Together in Gravesham, working with Gravesham Borough Council.
On Saturday, December 22 and Sunday, December 23, a packed programme of musical delights will keep you entertained as you finish off your Christmas shopping.
It will feature appearances from the Borough Brass Band Group, Training Band, Mainly Sax Quartet, Synchordia and Knights Academy on Saturday, between 10.30am and 4pm.
On Sunday, the ellenor hospice choir, PaceMakers Drummers and Marlow Singers will also be performing in Gravesend's town centre between 12.15pm and 3.30pm.
