Man in his 80s dies after crash on A226 Gravesend Road, Shorne

A man has died after a crash between a car and a pedestrian.
Police were called to A226 Gravesend Road, Shorne, just before 11am today.
A man in his 80s was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been made aware.
A man from Higham was arrested on suspicion of being unfit to drive and causing death by careless driving.
An investigation into the circumstances is underway and the area surrounding Forge Lane will remain closed while inquiries take place.
