A man has been arrested after robbers threatened a shop worker with a screwdriver before making off with a sum of cash.
The staff member at the store in Neville Place, Wrotham Road, Meopham, was left shaken and scared by the threats.
It is understood two robbers held the screwdriver up to the worker's neck and threatened to cut his ear off.
It happened at around 4.30pm on Tuesday, and officers are searching for a second man involved.
Kent Police spokesman James Walker said: "At 9.10 this morning a 19-year-old man from Croydon was arrested in Laburnum Road, Strood, on suspicion of robbery.
"He remains in custody as inquiries continue."
The men were described as white, in their early 20s and about 5ft 10in to 6ft, of average build and were wearing the blue padded coats.
Anyone with information, that is yet to speak to officers, is asked to call Kent Police on 01474 366149 quoting 46/62358/19.
