Gravesend man arrested after police witness alleged assault on woman in Milton Road

A man has been arrested for an alleged attack on a woman in the street.
Police on patrol witnessed the suspected assault in Gravesend as they were driving around the town.
Officers reported the incident at 8.50pm on February 28 when a man is said to have chased a woman in Milton Road near the junction with Berkley Road.
It is alleged the man pushed the victim from behind causing her to fall and then was punched several times in the head by the suspect.
She did not require hospital treatment for her injuries.
Officers intervened and left their vehicle where a man in his 40s, from Gravesend, was arrested on suspicion of assault.
He was released on bail until March 22 while investigations continue.
