Three people have been arrested after a car was stopped on the A2 near Gravesend as part of a murder investigation.
Kent Police assisted colleagues from the Met in pulling over the vehicle at 11.30pm last night.
A man was arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently being held at a police station in north London.
Two women, who were also in the vehicle, were detained on suspicion of assisting an offender. They have since been released under investigation.
The arrests follow the death of John Avers in Dagenham.
The 47-year-old was found with serious injuries after police were called to reports of a collision between a car and pedestrian in a car park late last Sunday night - he died at the scene.
Earlier today a second man was arrested in Southend-on-Sea on suspicion of murder and remains in custody in Essex.
