Barrow 2 Ebbsfleet 0
17:12, 17 October 2009
Ebbsfleet United slumped to a 2-0 defeat at Barrow on Saturday to heap further pressure on boss Liam Daish.
Midfielder Gavin Heeroo was booked twice within six minutes as he was handed his marching orders after 37 minutes.
The home side's dominance finally paid off in the second half as striker Jon Shaw opened the scoring on 76 minutes. Substitute Andy Cook then rounded off proceedings, getting the finishing touch just ahead of Fleet keeper Lance Cronin inside the six-yard box on 81 minutes.
It could have been worse for the visitors had Cronin not got in the way of another Shaw effort in the closing minutes. The result leaves Ebbsfleet second bottom in the table, still with only one win all season.
