A teenage boy has appeared in court after another boy was reportedly threatened at knifepoint during an alleged robbery attempt on a village green.
The 15-year-old suspect was detained after an incident in Meopham was reported to police last month.
It was reported a boy walking on the green had been threatened with a knife and told to hand over valuables shortly before 3.20pm on September 21.
The victim refused and ran off and managed to get away.
The youth from Dartford, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested in connection and charged with three alleged offences – attempted robbery, assault and possession of a bladed article in a public place.
He was remanded in custody and appeared at Medway Youth Court on September 27.
At the hearing, he was remanded into youth detention custody and will appear again at the same court on October 11.
Detectives previously appealed for witnesses with privately held CCTV or dash camera footage recorded in the area at the time.
