A burnt out car was abandoned down a country lane following a string of anti-social behaviour.

The white vehicle was found on Friday morning by farmer Paul Watts in Church Road, Cobham, near Gravesend.

It looks as though it has been set alight and is surrounded by a black, charred pathway. The front of the car is also crushed, the bumper is hanging off and there is debris surrounding it.

A spokesman for Gravesham council confirmed it received a report of an abandoned vehicle over the weekend and an officer went out to examine it yesterday morning.

Its contractors were notified but, as of this afternoon, had not been down to the site. However, Paul confirmed the car had been moved in the meantime.

The farmer explained this is not the first time a car has been dumped there and fears this is just another incident in a long line of anti-social behaviour in the rural area.

'We have an ongoing problem on that road. It is not getting any better'

He said there have been problems with drug use, syringes being left on the ground and young people driving motorbikes up and down the road and across the fields.

Paul added: "It has been going on for years. The beat do what they can and the council has been pretty helpful.

"It is just another incident to add to the rest of the list. We have an ongoing problem on that road. It is not getting any better.

"My dog bone is the lack of respect people have for the countryside. They think it is their right to treat it like this."
