Arriva Fastrack bus caught skipping a red light as it leaves Bluewater

A bus driver has been caught skipping a red light as it left Kent's biggest shopping centre.
The Arriva Fastrack vehicle was recorded on a Nextbase dash cam on the way out of Bluewater, first cutting up a motorist at a roundabout and then failing to stop at a red light at a pedestrian crossing.
Although the vehicle was not in service at the time, an Arriva spokesman said the footage would be investigated.

“We will be studying the video supplied and investigating the incident thoroughly," they said.
“Arriva takes safety extremely seriously. Our drivers are trained to the highest standards and are subject to regular monitoring.
"Any lapses in those standards are investigated fully and appropriate action taken where it is found necessary.”
The minimum penalty for failing to stop at a red light is a £100 fine and three penalty points, but it can be appealed if there are mitigating circumstances or the driver believes it has been issued incorrectly.
