Gravesend boy wins Guinness World Record for naming countries

How many countries can you identify just from their map outline?

Rehaan Khan, who is only eight years old, can name 72 in one minute making him the new holder of a Guinness World Record.

The map fanatic has been interested in countries, their locations and flags since he was five years old and mum Rita has said he has had a map since he was little and is always watching YouTube videos about similar topics.

His favourite continent is North America and he can name all the USA states from their outlines and even identify their flags too.

The 39-year-old added: "He has done this amazing thing. He just knows where they are, even a small island. It caught his interest."

The family of Nursery Grove, Gravesend do not share Rehaan's passion for geography but are all very proud of his achievement.

Rita added: "It is incredible. It is amazing what he can do. It was great. I knew he had done it.

"He was jumping around. He knows he has done something great."

Rehaan broke the record on July 15 only seven days after it had been set by Adam Saeed from Bahrain who named 70 countries.

He had attempted the record back in 2019 but his effort was disqualified due to a technical error.

An 11-year-old from Pakistan went onto to take the record in October of that year naming 57 countries.
