A WOMAN has spoken of the
terrifying moment she was just feet from disaster when a car
ploughed into her shop.

Vicki Osborne said she thought her
Northfleet High Street store was being ram-raided when a Land Rover
careered into it this morning (Thursday, August 27).

It left the front of Discount
Computers completely caved in – but miraculously the male driver
and two baby boys on board escaped unhurt.

Mrs Osborne, who owns and lives
above the shop with her husband Darren, was in the shop’s back room
when the vehicle crashed at about 8.15am.

She said: "I was just making a cup
of coffee when I heard a huge crash and the doors flew open and I
could see the front of our shop had gone.

"At first I thought it was
ram-raiders. I just screamed for my husband to come downstairs.

"I was absolutely shaking and
shocked. I could do with a stiff drink to be honest."

The black 2005 Land Rover Discovery
is said to have been swerving to avoid a cat when it smashed
through railings and into the shop – but was itself left relatively
unscathed.

The male driver and two infant
boys, aged about six and 18 months, are thought to have been taken
to hospital as a precaution.

The vehicle was hoisted away from
the scene by a recovery team at about 11am.
