Charlton Athletic defender Yado Mambo and Crystal Palace striker Nathaniel Pinney benefit from loans at Ebbsfleet United

Football League quality at both ends of the field is vindicating Ebbsfleet’s use of the loan market as Yado Mambo and Nathaniel Pinney bid to seize their chance of regular senior football.
Charlton defender Mambo (pictured) has now spent two months with the Fleet and has extended his stay until January, while striker Pinney – under contract at Crystal Palace – has finished on the winning side both times since arriving on a month-long deal.
Pinney, 21, scored the winner against Stockport on Saturday and revealed Mambo had helped convince him a loan switch to north Kent would be beneficial.
"I played against Yado, for Palace reserves," he said. "He’s a good bloke, I spoke to him, said ‘how is it here?’ and he said he’s enjoying it.
"I didn’t want to play ressies for the rest of the season, I want to prove myself, so I jumped at the chance to come here. A reserve game is slower, but this is fast, it’s intense. A reserve game’s just like a stroll in the park."
Five of the Fleet’s six wins in Blue Square Bet Premier have come since Mambo’s arrival. The 20-year-old has formed a formidable centre-back pairing with Paul Lorraine and has thrived on the physical side of non-league football.
"I’ve loved every minute here," he said. "I wasn’t playing at Charlton, and reserve football’s not really competitive.
"The gaffer (Chris Powell) told me to go out and play football and I want to go back with good feedback from Liam Daish."
