Two people are in hospital after a crash near a pub on the main road.
The A226 Gravesend Road in Higham is partially blocked in both directions due to the accident, with one person suffering “potentially life-changing injuries”.
Emergency services, including police, firefighters, air ambulance and paramedics, were called to the scene near the Sir John Falstaff pub at around 6.15am after two cars collided.
One fire engine attended, with crews helping to make the scene safe and administer first aid to three people.
A rapid response vehicle from the air ambulance service was also dispatched.
An ambulance spokesman said one patient was taken to Medway Hospital, while the other was taken by helicopter to Kings College Hospital in London with serious injuries.
Officers still remain at the scene.
