Former Britain’s Got Talent runners-up Twist and Pulse visited a school to give youngsters a glimpse of their act ahead of a charity gig.
Ashley Glazebrook, better known as Twist, and Glen Murphy, better known as Pulse, will be raising money for two causes during The Charity Gala at The Orchard Theatre, Dartford, on Sunday, May 21.
The good causes are Ifield School, a special school in Cedar Avenue, Gravesend, for pupils aged four to 19, and Demelza Hospice Care for Children, which provides vital care to families across East Sussex, Kent and south east London. Last year’s show raised £7,000, which was split equally between the two causes.
Twist and Pulse, who were on BGT in 2010, visited the school on Tuesday last week to give pupils a taste of what to expect when they arrive in Dartford next month. Twist, who is formerly of Gravesend, said: “It’s an amazing thing to support and there are some amazing other acts in the line-up.
“It’s about giving children every opportunity to have the best life they can with the illnesses that some of them have got.”
The Jive Aces, The Take That Experience and comedian Bobby Davro will join Twist and Pulse at the gala, plus a host of other entertainment including a troupe from the Len Goodman School of Dancing. The former Strictly judge has had a dance school in Dartford for years.
All of the acts will appear free of charge and all money made will again be split between Ifield School and Demelza.
Organiser Paul Shed said: “We raised thousands of pounds for two great causes before, thanks to fantastic support from the local community, and we hope to do even better this time.
“We are very grateful for all the above acts appearing free of charge and also very grateful for everyone that supported us on the first occasion. It should be a truly spectacular night and an evening to remember.”
The gala gets under way at 7.30pm and tickets ranging from £26.50 to £36.50 are available from The Orchard Theatre box office on 01322 220000 or online at orchardtheatre.co.uk.
Pre-show dining is also available.
