GRAVESEND Visually Handicapped Bowling Club member Mike Worden is hoping for more success over the next couple of weeks as he takes part in the International Paralympic Committee World Championships in Australia.
Worden, who lives in Gillingham, is representing Great Britain in the singles and pairs competitions held in Adelaide.
Despite his handicap, the Gravesend club member plays to a very high standard and has already picked up the National Singles title in 1996 and 1999.
He collected a bronze medal in the singles whilst representing England in the 2000 Home Internationals in Newport, Wales, although he greatest achievement came last year.
In partnership with Ruth Small, he beat a selection of pairs from Australia, Canada, Israel, New Zealand, South Africa and the home countries to earn a silver medal in the World Blind Bowls Tournament at Girvan, Scotland.
