Big chance for elf hat makers
00:01, 19 June 2013
Gravesham council is looking for someone to supply them with 1,200 elf hats.
The offer, put online through the South East Business Portal, requests businesses that produce elf hats to get in touch, offering the council an idea of price.
The request by procurement manager Dave Hollands asks: “The council wishes to identify suppliers of elves hats who will be able to provide circa 1,200 in number ahead of the 2013 Christmas season.
“The hats will be required to be available in a range of sizes The hats should available in green and red colours but if other colour options are available, please advise.”
The Gravesend Messenger has uncovered that the pointy novelty hats will form part of a major Christmas celebration in the borough later this year.
A council spokesman said: “The event will involve a potentially record-breaking number of elves on Elf Help Day where around 1,500 children will be in Gravesend raising money for local charities.
“The hats are to provide the participants with uniform headgear on the day. We have to put this out to tender to get the best price. It is anticipated that the cost of the hats will be met by sponsorship.”
If you produce elf hats and want to supply them, contact david.hollands@gravesham.gov.uk before November 1.
