A man was arrested last night after a drink-driving test revealed he was almost five times the legal limit.
Officers were called to Trinity Road, Gravesend, at around 5.20pm to reports a person was driving while drunk, before allegedly entering a pub and attempting to drive off after his visit.
Police spokesman Sally Smith said: "The man, who is in his 40s and from the London area, was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving."
Kent Police's roads unit tweeted the driver of the car recorded a reading of 172 when tested - which is almost five times the legal limit of 35.
He was taken into custody and later released, pending further inquiries.
