A man was arrested and 40 wraps of suspected heroin were recovered after police chased him.
Plain-clothed officers from Gravesham Community Policing Team were travelling through Northfleet in an unmarked car at around 1.50pm yesterday when they became suspicious of a man.
The suspect tried to make off and a foot chase took place, where a bag containing the suspected drugs was discarded.
After catching up a 22-year-old man from Gravesend was arrested on suspicion of supplying a controlled drug.
He has since been released, pending further inquiries.
Gravesham's police team tweeted: "Another great stop by our Community Policing Team. Large amount of drugs located. #KeepingOurCommunitiesSafe #Gravesend #SayNoToDrugs FS."
