Two men have been charged after they were found with fake £20 notes.

Phillip Brown, 52, of Ash Road, Longfield and Lucas Starczuk, 37, of Rymer Road, Croydon, were charged with conspiracy to produce counterfeit banknotes.

An investigation by detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate lead to the execution of a warrant at a business premises in Kent House Lane, Beckenham on Saturday, where a large quantity of fake money was found.

Brown and Starczuk were subsequently arrested.

The pair appeared before Medway Magistrates' Court earlier yesterday and were remained in custody to appear at Woolwich Crown Court on Monday June 3.

Detectives in the case were assisted by the UK National Central Office for Counterfeit Currency, which is part of the National Crime Agency.
