Opener Dushan Ranatunga cracked a century for second-placed Harvel but found his efforts in vain as they suffered a shock four-wicket defeat to bottom-club Bromley Common in Kent League Division 2 on Saturday.
With fellow opener David Walker hitting a half-century, Harvel were handily placed on 231-7. But it proved insufficient as Bromley Common recovered from 77-3 to reach 235-6.
In the Premier Division, Hartley Country Club maintained the pressure on leaders Bromley with an eight-wicket win over Bexley.
Replying to Bexley’s 182-9, Justin Guillen hit an unbeaten 84 and Min Patel 40 as Hartley knocked off the required amount in 26.4 overs.
