Ebbsfleet recorded their first Blue Square Premier win of the season with a 2-1 victory at Eastbourne Borough on Monday.

Simon Thomas, who had earlier missed a penalty, netted a late winner for Liam Daish's side against their 10-man opponents.

Thomas had been brought down by Gary Elphick before seeing his penalty saved by keeper Danny Knowles just before half-time.

Knowles was red-carded early in the second half after fouling Magno Vieira, who picked himself up and coverted the spot-kick.

Jamie Taylor struck to bring the home side level, before Thomas turned in Vieira's cross in stoppage time.
