Ebbsfleet boss Liam Daish has admitted his relief at ending the club’s barren run at Stonebridge Road.

The Fleet’s 3-1 win over Weston-super-Mare last Saturday was their first Blue Square Bet South home win of the season, at the fourth attempt.

He said: "We had come close to winning some of our earlier home games but it was still nice to get a win because the longer these runs go on, the harder it gets to end them."

Two goals from Calum Willock and a Michael West strike did the trick for the Fleet as they scored three times in the second half after trailing 1-0 at the break.

Daish (pictured) had caused a mild surprise with his team selection by leaving Tom Phipp on the bench after the youngster scored in the win at Dorchester the week before. He must decide whether to start with Phipp for Saturday’s FA Cup second qualifying round match at Cray Wanderers.

The Wands have made a mixed start to their Ryman League Premier Division campaign but Daish is expecting nothing less than a hot reception on Saturday.

"We know Cray will make it tough for us," he said. "But we are looking forward to it and want to progress in the competition."

Daish will be looking to Willock to continue the striking form which has brought him five goals already since his close season move to the Fleet from Crawley.
