Roly Edwards is not ruling out a return to football administration following the shock decision to end his 15-year reign as secretary of cash-strapped Ebbsfleet United.
He said: "You can never say never in football and I would hope to be return somewhere."
But he vowed: "I will always be a supporter of Ebbsfleet and when the new season starts, I shall be on the terraces cheering on the team because you can’t change your allegiance."
Mr Edwards (pictured) confessed his decision to stand down was not a knee-jerk reaction and that he had been considering leaving for some time.
"One morning I woke up and decided it was time to call it a day," he said. "Being secretary of Ebbsfleet is not a conventional type of situation because ultimately the members of MyFootballClub make the decisions.
"I’m relaxed about my decision and I’m enjoying the break. When I’ve recharged the batteries and had a holiday, I’ll consider making a return to football administration."
Del Page, Ebbsfleet’s matchday secretary, has also resigned. He and Mr Edwards shared responsibilities.
