A thug who was jailed earlier this year for manslaughter has admitted perverting the course of justice.

Former champion schoolboy boxer Eddy Ives, 29, entered the plea at Maidstone Crown Court.

He indicated through his lawyer that he wanted to be sentenced immediately.

But Judge Jeremy Carey adjourned sentence until after the trial of Meranda Eccleston, 35, Neil Sookoo, 37, and 42-year-old Thereza George - who have all denied the charge.

They are accused of communicating details of prosecution witnesses to Sookoo, who allegedly interfered with one - Cafer Zorlu - between June 11 and 14 this year.

Sookoo is also accused of intimidating Cafer Zorlu on June 13.

Eccleston, of St Gregory's Crescent, Gravesend, Sookoo and George, both of Hampton Crescent, Gravesend, will stand trial on December 9.

Sookoo has been remanded in custody. Eccleston and George are on bail, conditional on not going to the House on the Hill takeaway in East Hill, Dartford

Ives, formerly of Gravesend, was jailed for eight years in September after being convicted of killing Ben Mahoney, 30, at the kebab shop on April 12.

The jury heard the two men had not met before that night. Mr Mahoney and a friend were waiting for their food at House on the Hill takeaway in Dartford when Ives entered in what was described as a "demanding and aggressive" mood.

Mr Mahoney, who was a regular customer at the kebab shop, took exception to Ives's attitude and confronted him.

It was excepted by the prosecution that the air-conditioning installer threw the first punch and a scuffle broke out between the two.
