Fire crews remain at the scene of a blaze at Park Pale, near Rochester.
The fire broke out just after 4.30pm Tuesday in a van. The blaze then spread to the roof of an industrial unit.
Police have closed off the A2 slip road at junction 1 of the M2, between Shorne and Strood, so firefighters can get to a fire hydrant.
The closure effects both the coastbound and London-bound slip roads and could remain in place until this evening.
Police are not treating the incident as suspicious.
