Kent Fire and Rescue Service raise money in Ash-cum-Ridley
10:53, 21 March 2018
Firefighters made a splash at an action-packed charity car wash.
A total of £963 was raised, before Gift Aid, at Ash-cum-Ridley fire station in Chapel Wood Road, Ash.
The event formed part of a series of car washes across the county.
All money raised will go to the Fire Fighters Charity, which offers both physical and psychological support to those within the fire service.
Alongside washing vehicles, the team offered coffee, cake and tours of the station.
Visitors were also given the chance to see inside a fire engine.
People flocked to support their local heroes, and were captured on camera by team members from Diamond 9 Productions.
The Kent-based company compiled a short video, showcasing the highlights of the day.

The event also provided a welcome opportunity for crew members to promote their new Show You Care campaign, which is run by the Kent Fire and Rescue Service alongside singer and Kent resident Cheryl Baker.
It aims to support members of the community who live in isolation, and may benefit from the companionship of those in their local area.
