Striking pictures show the moment firefighters put out a blaze which had engulfed a taxi.
Crews were called to the incident at the junction of Fawkham Road and Kent Road, in Longfield at around 9.15am.
One fire engine attended to put out the fire, which ended just before 9.40am.
Hartley resident Jeremy Clitheroe, 41, saw the incident as he was driving past.
The train driver said: "I was just driving along the road and saw the fire engine go past the end towards Fawkham.
"When I reached the end, I saw a taxi with its entire front end in flames.
"The fire fighters started to spray the fire, which led to the huge cloud of smoke which covered the road entirely.
"At that point, as I had my child in the car, I left so as not to breathe in any of the smoke."
Spokesman for the fire service Kirsty Gearey said: "We were called to Fawkham Road this morning to reports of a vehicle alight.
"The cause is not known and there are no reported injuries."
