Punjab United in Gravesend to feature on BBC One

A behind the scenes documentary of a non-league football team is hitting screens next week.
Gravesend-based Punjab United will be appearing on BBC One, showing how the club was run last season and some of its matchday experiences.
It will air on Monday, June 17 at 7.30pm.
The team was started by businessman Chipie Sian, who is also their manager.
The 42-year-old said: “The BBC have been following us since last season.
"It’s been great having them around and following a club like Punjab United FC.
“Getting mic’d up every week was a bit weird at first but when the game kicks off you don’t worry about the cameras - it’s all about the game.
“It’s been a tough season and I think the BBC should have some great footage of what it’s really like at this level and the commitment it takes to run a club.”
They play at Elite Venue, in Dunkirk Close, Gravesend, and will start next season in the Southern Counties East Football League’s Premier Divison.
Film maker Samuel Supple, who produced the documentary, said it was similar to the recent Class of '92 production which looked at Manchester United’s famous 1992 generation of players.
He added: “I just think Chipie and his team’s success should be shared to the widest audience possible.”
Punjab United have even had one of their former players compete in a World Cup.
Last year, Camen Bhandal took part in the CONIFA World Cup, for Punjab.
