A classic car which was part of a funeral procession caught fire.
The Jaguar, thought to have been made in the 1970s, was forced to stop after it caught alight in Stone Street, Gravesend, at 12.20pm.
The car was one of eight, along with a horse drawn carriage, which was making its way around the town as part of a funeral.
Thamesgate Shopping Centre’s supervisor, Shaun Welch, said: “We were sat in our office and we got a radio broadcast that there was a car fire in Stone Street so myself and the manager ran to put it out.
“We took a couple of fire extinguishers and managed to get it out before it got to the fuel.
“It was one of the first four cars of the funeral procession.
“No one was hurt.
“We got everyone out of the car.
“Everyone was safe.
“It is a cracking car, it’s beautiful.”
