Gravesend defeated Basildon 3-2 on Saturday for their first East Women’s League Division 2 South win of the season.
The home side started the game well with Kerry Jewiss, assisted by Karen Jones, giving them an early lead. Jewiss returned the favour, setting Jones up for Gravesend’s second goal.
Basildon managed to score before the break and started the second half strongly to level the score. However, player-of-the-match Jones scored her second to give Gravesend the win.
