Gravesend Rugby Club’s cricket side hope to confront the full might of Lashings all-stars in Sunday’s fundraiser at Donald Biggs Drive.
The hosts are hoping to welcome former Test stars Devon Malcolm, Graeme Hick and Chris Harris for the eagerly awaited fixture.
"We’re hoping they bring as many big names as they can," said 2ndXI team captain James Bradford (pictured), who, with his father, is organising the match.
He added: "We’re a self-supporting club and need to raise as much money as we can. "
But he expressed disappointment that more local businesses have not come forward in support.
He explained: "I know we’re in the midst of a deep recession but the response from the local business community has been terribly disappointing."
Any local companies wishing to support the match should get in touch with Mr Bradford on 07732 868300.
Gates open at 1pm (2.30 start). Tickets are £5 for adults and £3 for children under-16. A family ticket (two adults, two children) is £10.
