Gravesend go on the attack against Sidcup
Gravesend overcame Sidcup in the clash of two unbeaten sides to go top of London 1 South on Saturday.
Despite the home side having a weight-disadvantage of almost a stone per man, Jon Clements and James Harris grabbed the tries as the the home side recorded a 13-9 win at Rectory Field to leapfrog their opponents.
Old Gravesendians received a lesson in finishing from Medway as they were crushed 44-6 at home in London 3 South East.
The depleted Old Gs brought Marcus D’Cunha out of retirement for the game while Gavin Bright made his debut on the other wing.
Richard Oxtoby kicked a penalty in the first half but the home side went in 30-3 behind despite having had their share of possession. A lack of clinical finishing and frequent errors cost the Old Gs.
Full-back Matthew Holdstock kicked a drop goal after the break.
