Gravesend's unbeaten run came to an end with a 25-15 loss to Cobham in London 1 South last Saturday.
Gravesend stayed top on points difference after Chichester won 13-3 at Old Elthamians.
The visitors were ahead after a try on 15 minutes but Gray reduced the deficit with a penalty five minutes later.
Two quick scores made it 17-3 but Gs skipper Jamie Forsythe drove over following a line-out and Gray added the extras to make it 17-10 at the break.
Within two minutes of the restart Gravesend had slipped further behind but Gs continued to battle and were unlucky on more than one occasion before the visitors added a penalty for a 25-10 lead.
Gs were denied a penalty try but continued to heap pressure on the visitors and Sox Stevens eventually crashed through to reduce the deficit with seven minutes left, but they could not find another breakthrough.
