Gravesend Rugby Club want the chance to play at the home of their footballing neighbours Ebbsfleet United.
Lead coach Matt Williams (pictured) is keen for his players to showcase their skills at Stonebridge Road, three miles from the rugby club’s Rectory Field base.
Williams, a former Harlequins player, cited the potential for sporting growth in north Kent as a key reason behind his decision to take charge of the Gs in the summer.
He said: “Gravesend is a financial sleeping giant. With things that are happening at the moment, such as the Paramount Park at the peninsula and the Kuwaiti takeover at Ebbsfleet Football Club, there are lots of regeneration opportunities in this area.
“I don’t think it’ll take much to really put this club on the map, particularly with what is happening commercially in the area.
“If (Fleet vice-chairman) Peter Varney wants to give me a call, I would love to play – this season – a couple of prestigious games at Ebbsfleet Football Club.”
Gravesend, relegated from National 3 London & South East in April, have won their first two games back in London 1 South.
They host Haywards Heath on Saturday, kick-off 3pm.
