A man from Gravesend has been keeping spirits high during the coronavirus pandemic by singing karaoke from his front garden and raising money for ellenor's hospice.

Lewis Spencer, 54, who lives in Woodlands Park, has taken to Facebook live to bring happiness to his neighbours and viewers online during this dull time of isolation.

For five nights last week, Lewis performed song requests from 7pm on his karaoke machine.

Following the great response to his first video on Monday, Lewis decided to not only make people laugh but also raise money for ellenor's Hospice.

Lewis, part of the events team at Broadditch Farm, said: "I'm trying to perform a song for everyone.

"It's just something to take my mind and everyone else's off of what's going on at the moment.

"I've only just come back to work following a knee operation and it's been so miserable.

"So I thought, why not have a laugh, even reading the comments under the video have made my day, it's lovely."

Lewis performances last about 15 minutes, and he tries to dress up differently each night.

His posts drew a total of 4,000 views and raised £1460 for ellenor.

Lewis added: "It's just to take our mind off things at the moment, I might not be the best singer, but it's all for the smiles."
