Owner Jasbir Basra, 60, couldn't fit more stock into his huge Mad Sales store in Gravesend if he tried.

The building is packed to the brim with items - and Jasbir says if he hasn't got it, you probably don't need it.

The shop, which Jasbir owns with his wife Shammi, is one of many in Queen Street, which itself is an Aladdin’s cave of nationalities.

In a few short yards, you can take a trip around the world.

Jasbir, who hails from Punjab, graduated in physics at London University in 1981 and later decided to follow his father into business.

He said: "It used to be much more busy when the market was here. Now 100% of our business is from loyal customers for which we are very grateful. Without them we wouldn’t survive."
