JAMES BONNER scored twice as Gravesham men’s 1sts drew 3-3 against Maidstone 3rds in Kent Open Premier A.
Gravesham led three times in a competitive contest full of fast attacking play, only to be pegged back with the outcome in doubt until the final whistle.
Goalkeeper Dan Cooper made several important saves before an unmarked Bonner put Gravesham ahead from close range. Maidstone levelled a few minutes later, but Sam Drake’s fierce finish restored the lead only for Stones to score a second from a short corner.
Desperate defending, and more good work by Cooper, kept the scores level and Bonner made it 3-2 only for Stones to get a third.
They had another effort ruled out before the end with the ball going in off a player’s arm.
