Ebbsfleet full-back Johnny Herd's first senior goal rescued a valuable point at Kidderminster in Blue Square Bet South on Saturday.

Liam Daish's (pictured) side looked set for defeat until former Southend defender Herd blasted home from the edge of the box late on to claim a draw.

The hosts had started brightly and Kyle Storer's early shot was saved by Preston Edwards.

Nick Wright was also thwarted by the Fleet keeper before Harriers took an 11th-minute lead when Lee Vaughan's cross was headed in by Luke Jones.

Calum Willock went close for the Fleet on the break but, having withstood the pressure, the visitors did draw level seven minutes before the break when Liam Enver-Marum drove forward and planted a superb shot beyond keeper Daniel Lewis.

Kidderminster again had the upper hand after the break but Ebbsfleet defended well with the hosts restricted mainly to long-range attempts.

They regained the lead with 16 minutes left, however, when Wright turned sharply in the box and scored.

It seemed as though the Fleet's efforts would go unrewarded until the 90th minute when a corner was half-cleared to Herd, who fired a low drive beyond Lewis - much to the delight of the 83 travelling Ebbsfleet fans.
