A large blaze at a timber yard yesterday (July 3) prompted the Kent Fire and Rescue Service to issue a warning to residents.
Six fire engines were called to an industrial estate in Ash Road, New Ash Green just before 2pm to tackle a fire that had spread to an adjacent workshop and involved vehicles.
At around 5pm four fire engines and a bulk water carrier remained on the scene of the inferno.
The blaze was extinguished, using main jets and hose reels and crews are now awaiting the arrival of UK Power to isolate some overhead power lines, before fully extinguishing the remaining fire.
The operation was over by 8.25pm.
There are no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is not yet known.
