09:10, 19 March 2017
More than 300 square metres of grass and undergrowth was destroyed in a blaze in Gravesend yesterday evening.
Firefighters were called out to Mark Lane, near the Metropolitan Police Specialist Training Centre, at about 5.45pm after a fire broke out in undergrowth.
Crews from Thames-Side and Strood fire stations spent almost two hours putting out the flames and didn’t leave the site until about 7.30pm.
A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said it was not known at this stage how the blaze started.
