Crash blocks Taylor’s Lane, Higham
09:20, 27 July 2017
A car flipped onto its side, blocking a country lane, following a collision in Higham.
A learner driver was travelling in one direction along Taylor's Lane when two cars came towards her.
According to police, the two vehicles travelling in the same direction collided with one another and the learner driver was not involved in the collision.
However, a relative of the learner driver, who was being taught to drive by her sister, confirmed one of the cars had collided with her vehicle.
The relative said the learner driver's vehicle was stationary at the time of impact.
Police confirmed the occupants of the two cars going in the same direction fled the scene.
It was earlier reported that the two girls in the learner car had also left the scene before police officers arrived but a police spokesman has now confirmed this was not the case and the girls waited until officers arrived and spoke to them.
We apologise for any confusion or upset caused.
Police were called at about 7.25pm on Monday.
A spokesman said: "No injuries were reported and it was reported that the occupants of both cars [that were travelling in the same direction] left the scene before officers arrived.
"A search of the area was conducted however no arrests were made. Inquiries are ongoing."
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting reference 24-1237.
